Raspberry Zinger Cottage Cheese Smoothie
The “zing” part of this raspberry smoothie comes from the addition of fresh ginger. Ginger is known for anti-nausea effects (think of ginger ale to settle an upset stomach) but it also has powerful anti-inflammatory effects. With a spicy flavor, it pairs well with both sweet and savory dishes. Raspberries yield a beautiful pink color but other berries or even pineapple would blend well with the ginger.
1 cup cottage cheese
½ cup milk (cow’s milk, soy or nut)
½ banana, frozen
1 cup frozen raspberries
½-1 tsp fresh ginger, chopped
Blend all ingredients in a blender on high speed until smooth. Divide between two glasses and serve immediately.
